Social Belonging Dataset Terms of Use

Thank you for your interest in the paper Where and with whom does a brief social-belonging intervention promote progress in college?

A limited data set that contains de-identified student-level belonging data used to perform the analyses in the paper is available to recipients who agree to the following terms of use.

  1. Provide a brief description of the research that will be conducted using the data.
  2. Provide proof of required training and approvals from your appropriate Institutional Review Board.
  3. Comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations relating to the use and disclosure, the safeguarding, confidentiality, and maintenance of the data.
  4. The recipient shall not provide the data or share access to these data with others, unless they have independently applied for and been granted access to these data.
  5. Use appropriate safeguards to protect the data from misuse and unauthorized access or disclosure, including maintaining adequate physical controls and password protections for any server or system on which the data is stored or shared.
  6. All appropriate safeguards will be taken to protect the identity of individuals and institutions in the data. No attempt will be made to try to establish or retrieve the identity of any individual or post-secondary institution represented in the data.
  7. Any study, report, presentation, publication, or other disclosure of data is limited to the reporting of aggregate data and will not contain any information that can identify a participant or institution. Results for groups containing fewer than 10 individuals will be suppressed.
